The next place we visited was a demonstration park. This park displayed different innovated technologies that are now used in agriculture. They want to show the public the possibility of using these technologies to better enhance growing their crops. We saw various hydroponic systems. They also had an intricate waterway for fertigation. They grew various leafy greens and vegetables products. All looked beautiful and were very well taken care of! They had no disease or pest issues on the any of the crops.
One of the things that we learned here is China is heavily polluted. Over 70% of China’s soil is polluted and cannot be cultivated. When growing hydroponically there is no requirement for water or soil quality. Because of the increasing population and lack of space plant factories are required to grow produce to feed everyone. This place was made to promote and train consumers to know what are healthy good quality food and not just a label saying organic is the best. Though it’s great to see the various systems they are so expensive and hard to afford for the average farmer.
