We met in the lobby at 6a. The hotel was very accommodating and started breakfast at 615a instead of 7a for our group. We ate quickly and took an hour long bus ride to the train station. This train station was not as big as Nanjing but was still impressive. The train had little rooms that accommodated 6 people. There was a seating area and bed above on either side of the room. It was a seven hour train ride to Fu Zhou so having a place to sleep helped a lot. Lunch was a boxed style which was a little better than the first. The country side was beautiful. It reminded me of home as we passed green mountain sides blanketed with clouds. Bamboo forests covered some of these mountains. Rain showers covered our windows and the landscape. It was so nice. We passed through multiple tunnels that were cut through the mountains and watched other trains wiz by. Arriving at Fu Zhou the weather changed instantly. It was hot and humid; worse than Hawaii’s humidity.

We got on another bus that took us to Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University. We stayed at a hotel on campus which was very nice. It was as if we were living in the jungle. The view from our room was beautiful. It overlooked one of the campus gardens. We dropped our luggage off and went down for dinner. The food was good. After dinner we walked around campus for a bit where they had a few shops to visit. It seems that all the places we visited so far come alive at night. Many people were playing basketball, socializing, walking around etc. We returned early and enjoyed the rest of the night in our rooms.
