Mexico City, Mexico

 

Spring Break 2015 was spent in Mexico City. It was a five and half hour flight to California with a three hour layover. The next leg of the trip would have been three hours to Mexico City but unfortunately the flight was canceled after we sat in the plane for two hours waiting to take off. Luckily I was passed out and the entire time. So a little detour to San Francisco and eighteen hours later we were in Mexico City. We arrived at 430am; city streets were quiet and traffic was smooth. We arrived at our hotel which was extremely fancy and right in time for the start of the daily breakfast buffet which was quite yummy.

 

The purpose of this trip was to collect data from ______ Herbarium of all their poppy records. This herbarium had was huge. Many different plant families were represented here. Data collected included location, color, collectors information and date it was collected. Many specimens were quite old and still in great condition. It took the five of us three days to go through all the records.
